Suggested President Choice Chocolate Chip Recipe:
Classic Chocolate Chip Cookies
Ingredients
-
2 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
-
½ teaspoon baking soda
-
1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, room temperature
-
½ cup granulated sugar
-
1 cup packed light-brown sugar
-
1 teaspoon salt
-
2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
-
2 large eggs
-
2 cups semisweet and/or milk chocolate chips
Optional Add-ins
Instructions
-
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
-
Mix dry ingredients: In a small bowl, whisk together flour and baking soda. Set aside.
-
Cream butter and sugars: In a large bowl, beat the butter with both sugars until light and fluffy (about 2–3 minutes).
-
Add eggs & vanilla: Beat in the salt, vanilla, and eggs, one at a time.
-
Combine: Gradually add flour mixture, mixing until just combined.
-
Stir in chips: Fold in the chocolate chips (and nuts if using).
-
Scoop: Drop heaping tablespoons of dough (or use a cookie scoop) about 2 inches apart on the prepared baking sheets.
-
Bake: Bake 10–12 minutes, until cookies are golden around the edges but still soft in the center.
-
Cool: Let cookies rest on baking sheet for 2 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
